Past Projects

World War I Memorial

John McKean, our MPML Treasurer and neighbor, had a vision for the World War I memorial. John wanted the flagpole painted, a new flag installed high and proud with appropriate lighting installed. His vision was had to be done on the OFFICIAL FLAG DAY. We talked about it at the neighborhood association and Mayor Jim Suttle was able to contact Woodman of the World and procurred a brand new flag. Neighbors got together on the "official" Flag Day to paint the pole, install the lighting and the flag. It all came together beautifully with John McKean heading up the project.  Thank you to everyone who helped John's vision come to fruition.

Making Blankets For Hospitalized Children

Every year a group of neighbors from the Miller Park / Minne Lusa area get together to make blankets for hospitalized children to provide some confort for them during this stressful time. This year we congregated at Nite Hawks Cafe where Traci was kind enough to allow us to use the party room and long tables to make the blankets. Everyone had a terrific time visiting with each other while tying the blanket ends together. It reminded me of the old days when women would get together to quilt. It was an opportunity to make some new friends, discuss neighborhood events, family and any thing else you can think of. It was very relaxing and the food was terrific!

Precinct Appreciation

On February 14th, 2017,  we showed our appreciation for all of the officers at the Northeast Precinct. The Miller Park Minne Lusa Neighborhood Association and Citizen Patrol worked together and made sure all 3 shifts had Jimmy John sandwiches and homemade cookies. We had a lot of positive comments and thank you's. I want to thank each and every person that volunteered their time to help us with this project. A huge thanks goes out to all of our police officers and the fantastic job they do every day. Keep them in your prayers, so they all stay safe!
